The Riverview Hospital Foundation created the Women of Vision Luncheon in 2005 to gather interesting and talented women to educate them about their health and inspire them to follow their dreams. The luncheon builds camaraderie amongst Hamilton County women, creates awareness about Riverview Hospital, and raises funds for women’s services, programs and equipment through the Women of Vision Giving Club. 

Proceeds from the luncheon will be directed toward our ‘Heart of Your Community’ Capital Campaign. Heart attacks are the #1 killer of women and men in Indiana. 36% of deaths in Hamilton County are due to cardiovascular disease. To prevent and reduce this number, we are raising $4.6 million to buy lifesaving technology.

Women of Vision Giving Club

The Women of Vision Giving Club is a leadership group of women whose purpose is to provide funds to benefit the healthcare needs of women and girls in our community, as well as to:

• Involve women as philanthropic leaders
• Encourage and promote philanthropy among Hamilton County women
• Provide opportunities and programs to educate members about healthcare advances and women’s health issues

Membership

Each member contributes a minimum of $500 by December 31. Payments can be made monthly, quarterly or once per year – it is entirely up to the individual. All contributions to the Club are pooled together. At the beginning of each calendar year, every department at Riverview Hospital is invited to submit a request for funding that supports women’s and girls’ programs, education, equipment and technology that focus 100% on women and girls.

Members have the opportunity to review the funding requests and vote on which ones should be funded. The annual vote for the distribution of funds will be held in April each year. For your gift to be counted toward the current year’s selected project/s, your membership must be received no later than December 31st of the prior year. The use of the Fund will be voted on by the total membership each year. Absentee votes will be accepted. The allocation of funding will be determined by a majority vote.

The most important benefit of membership is the satisfaction of knowing that you are part of a collective, informed and empowered group of women choosing to enhance Riverview’s ability to positively impact the lives of women in our community.  Members will also receive:

• New members will receive a charming lunch tote with the Women of Vision logo on it
• Invitation to the VIP Health Fair on Saturday, October 10, 2009
• Recognition at the annual Women of Vision luncheon
